Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 6, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Friday March 6, 2026.

This morning the video is silent.  Just peace and serenity to start the day while absorbing the sun rays to power up!  That's part of Lagoon lifestyle.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 72°F
Wind Direction & Speed: South East at 5 - 10 MPH
Tide Stage: high tide around noon
Water Clarity: Clearer than when the wind is due East
Overall Conditions: Light chop - off shore is still unfishable

A warm low 70 this AM.  The south east winds have brought in ocean moisture so its a bit muggy but that humidity keeps the mornings warm.  We are going to be mid 80s and low 70s for the next week it looks like.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Grouchy was out as well as many of the other herons and egrets.  I watched a sting ray swimming the shore for 5 min.  It settled into the sand and completely covered itself with silt in under 1 min.  Invisible and then it burst out to attack some small fish.

Because they burrow when walking in the water it is always better to shuffle your feet than step.  The shuffle scares off stuff down there.  Big steps get stung!

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

A beautiful morning this AM.  I just sat quietly for 10 min on a bench and watched the clouds and the sun rise higher in the sky.  The breeze keeps me perfectly pleasant temperature wise.  Living here requires me to be on the water.  It is the only way to live here in the summer.  Stay on the water!

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update

The real estate market in Sebastian and Vero Beach remains balanced overall. Inventory levels are steady, and well-positioned homes continue to move quickly when priced appropriately.

I'm hosting a great open house tomorrow morning down in Vero.  A new 600k listing on a lake with a pool under a lanai.  I'll report back on traffic.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 5, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good late morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Thursday 5, 2026.

Back on the home dock today with some fun still photos to mix in.  I caught a ladyfish in my cast net today and that's a first!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 75°F
Wind Direction & Speed: SouthEast at 10 - 15 MPH
Tide Stage: Dead low - 11:15 AM
Water Clarity: Getting cloudier
Overall Conditions: Breezy, choppy surface, sounds of waves on the leward beach.

It's starting to feel a bit like summer.  The humidity has jumped, there are clouds in the sky and every day has a 20 per cent chance of rain.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Today I had 2 catches in my cast net.

1 - The greeneis are getting bigger.  They are twice the size they were 3 weeks ago.

I also caught a ladyfish today and that's the first time I've caught one here.  They are frequently called the poor mans tarpon as if you catch them on a line they fight like beasts!

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

Another beautiful day on the Indian River.  It's always fun to catch something new as all I really want to know is - "What's out there?"

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update

The great thing about this area is you can still come down here and live in paradise for even under 200k  There is also @M and up!.  There are lots of unusual ways to own property here and in the future I'll go more into some of the manufactured home options available and whether you own the dirt under them.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 4 , 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Wednesday March 4, 2026.

Today we go on a bit of a field trip for some new perspective.  Actually I had to get my car fixed and I took my ebike on the back and rode home and there again.  A whopping 1.5 miles away.  That's part of Lagoon lifestyle.

This is the piece of land I'm standing on.  Want to buy it?

Today there are some great shots of the Wabasso bridge and a huge chunk of land owned by the Florida Inland Waterway.  These are the people who keep the intercoastal channel open.  The history of the IC is fascinating.

Here's a quick 3rd party video I watched that explains it a bit.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/KVCy1UJiKNk?feature=share

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 71°F
Wind Direction & Speed: East at 5 - 10 MPH
Tide Stage: dropping to low
Water Clarity: Really nice here a bit further south
Overall Conditions: Breezy, choppy surface,

A warm low 70 this AM.  The east winds have brought in ocean moisture so its a bit muggy but that humidity is like a blanket.  Also like a blanket in August but that's another story!

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

I had a big fish day earlier this week and now it more birds and natural history.  The huge piece of land that I'm standing on is directly next to a massive 100s of acres piece owned by the Florida Inland Waterway.

The birds are active and I see some mullet jumping but not the large schools yet.  Later in the day from my usual dock we did see a number of manatees frolicking on the back side of the spoil isnad directly across from the dock.  I expect that to continue as the water warms and there is a bit of seagrass around the spoil islands.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

I love getting out and exploring on my bike.  I got to go down roads and ditches that I'd never do in my car.  I explored every nook and cranny of the coast that I could on my 1.5 mile ride home.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 3, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Tuesday March 3, 2026.

It’s a brisk start along the lagoon this morning, with temperatures sitting at 70°F with a strong on shore breeze and significant cloud cover.  However, as I write this at 4 PM we have since had a bit of rain and now it is sunny and 75 to end the day.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 72°F
Wind Direction & Speed: East at 10–15 MPH
Tide Stage: low but rising
Water Clarity: Not bad considering the sustained east winds
Overall Conditions: Breezy, choppy surface, cool morning air

The steady east wind has pushed some surface chop across the Indian River Lagoon, reducing water clarity and making for a more textured waterfront morning. The shore sounds like the beach with constant wave breaking.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Lots of birds and they love the breeze.  The turkey vultures fly on the breeze and hardly ever flap their wings.  I read that it takes them less energy to fly on the high winds than it does to stand in a tree!

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

Strong east winds can quickly impact water clarity along the Indian River Lagoon, especially during high tide cycles. This time of year, cooler overnight temperatures also slow early morning wildlife activity, but as the sun climbs, the system typically rebalances and becomes more active.

Good Afternoon from Sebastian Florida

Good afternoon from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Monday, March 2, 2026.

It's chamber of commerce kind of weather day.  It was 70 sunny when I got up at 7AM and the day has just been glorious.  We reached the low 80 and it is 76 at 5 PM.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 70°F
Wind Direction & Speed: East at 8-10 MPH
Tide Stage: Low around 4 PM

Water Clarity: For an east wind the water clarity is better than expected.
Overall Conditions: Fabu!

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Pinfish start the video and I caught them, greenies, and a few glass minnows in under 5 throws of the cast net.

I also am posting some good stills of an Anhinga (the snake bird),

And also a juvenile (all brown) pelican on a post next to a breeding adult with white head and yellow crown.

Not many dolphin today but lots of other life all around.  Even Hirams boat is heading to Pelican island.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

On days like today it is like everything is right with the lagoon.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing WEEKEND Report – February 28, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Saturday, February 28, 2026.  Let's call this the weekend report.  Like Chick-fil-A, I'm taking tomorrow off!

Man oh man did it rain overnight!  This is our dry season so we don't get much and all outdoor fires are prohibited right now because of it.  Burn Ban!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 71°F
Wind Direction & Speed: 10-15 MPH from the East (onshore).
Tide Stage: Dropping to Low
Water Clarity: A bit more cloudy than the previous 2 days
Overall Conditions: Choppy with waves forming as the wind sweeps across the lagoon.

A cool and damp morning even though it is 70 degrees.  The 70 are a funny range of temps.  There are warm 70s and cool ones, even if both register 75 on a  thermometer.  All about wind and sun exposure in the 70s.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

I didn't get my net or pole in the water today but there were lots of birds around.  Seagulls, which are rare over here in the lagoon, Grouch, the blue heron, Ibis flying overhead and they congregated on the beach some today.  Maybe the rains flush some of the critters they eat out of the sea wrack on the beach.  On a side note.  That was my masters thesis.  Bugs that eat decomposing seaweed on the beach.  Catalina Island in southern California.  CSUFullerton.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

Every day is so similar but yet different down here.  Today is the bird show.  Yesterday was fish bonanza.  I love just listening the the wind and water with a distant boat thrown in.  Luckily we don't get terrorized by jet skis down here.  Most people are too mature to ride them in the area!  Lagoon lifestyle is pontoon boats and small cabin cruisers, with lots of john boats thrown in.  It's chill around here.

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update

The market is strong here as Indian River county is one of the more affordable places left in Florida that has water access.  It's not over built and it's not over crowded.  You can live in Sebastian FL from the 200s or you can spend 2 million and head out to the island.  Well priced properties move quickly, especially during the season like we are in now.  Come on down and we'll go fishing or play golf, or go to the beach.  All are within 15 minutes of where I am standing!

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – February 27, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Friday, February 27, 2026.

I was out early this morning as I had to come see the fog that set in overnight.  The humidity is back to something close to normal at 70+ percent this AM and it looks like Loch Ness across the lagoon!  Then I came back for a fun morning of fishing with one of my neighbors.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 71°F
Wind Direction & Speed: 5 MPH from the south and occasionally the west.
Tide Stage: Dropping to Low
Water Clarity: A bit more cloudy than the previous 2 days
Overall Conditions: A slight ripple on the water surface

Partly cloudy skies are making it hard for the sun to burn off the marine layer but I'm sure it will occur as the weather person says we are going to reach into the 80s today.  There is a chance of afternoon thundershowers which is more like a summer weather pattern around here.  We could use it as there is a burn ban county wide now due to the risk of forest fires.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Lots of activity today.  I caught a pinfish on my 7 AM journey to the dock.  Now I'm back at 9 and have 2 poles in the water and using the cast net too.  It's fun catching the fun little yellow finned croakers.  I caught 1 and used it for bait for 30 minutes and then when I was done I took it off the hook and put it back in the water to watch it swim away.  I always wonder what the fish go tell their friends when they get back together about their day!

I also caught a puffer fish.  What amazing creatures.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

Its great to see the lagoon so vibrant with wildlife and people.  A group of 25 kayakers paddled by today.  3 people from my complex when paddle boarding.  My neighbor came out to fish with me.  It was a regular group meeting on the dock today.  That is lagoon lifestyle!

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – February 26, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your first daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Thursday, February 26, 2026.

I was out early this morning as I had a 9 AM meeting but I didn't need a coat for the first time in 3 days!  It was already in the high 50s but there is absolutely no wind.  The lagoon looks like a bathtub.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 57°F
Wind Direction & Speed: None
Tide Stage: Dropping to Low
Water Clarity: Nice and clear
Overall Conditions: Like a calm bathtub

Yesterday we had an offshore or westerly breeze and that always produces low turbidity in the water so it clears up.  This morning it was dead calm.  I'm writing this after lunch and it has shifted to the south which is our warmest breeze and also produces good water clarity.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Grouchy the blue heron is in today's film as he was peacefully sitting on the dock I trespassed on yesterday.  I also filmed the dock so you can see what I wrote about yesterday.  Grouch is called such as he likes our dock the best but we have the most traffic and when you come on the dock he flies away and squawks at you every time.  I did it once late at night when I walked down there and I almost had a stroke.

When the water is this calm and clear even the slightest fish jump make sound you can hear.  Gentle and soft but then the ripples radiate for minutes.  It's beautiful.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

I love seeing the water so clear.  It makes me want to get involved with the clam restoration projects in the Indian River.  I reached out to them yesterday and told them I'd like to volunteer, so we'll see where that goes.  I love the lagoon and it lifestyle and want to see it flourish for generations to come.

On the volunteer forefront.  If you are in town check out the Friends of The St. Sebastian River.  They hold lots of great clean up events and educational seminars.  Plus, their website is a great resource for rules and regs in the county concerning fertilizer use, septic tanks, anything that ultimately effects the river and therefore the lagoon.

http://www.fssr.org/

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update

I'm feeling my need to help come through strong this week.  This mornings real estate insight is that the Realtors Association of Indian River county is having a charity golf tournament Oct 3rd, 2026 at Sandridge Golf Club.  The course has been rated on the 25 best in FL for public play and is a scenic and challenging test of chasing the while ball.  We are looking for sponsors and 4somes of golfers.  Limited to 125 players.  $450 per 4 some.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – February 25, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

f

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

It’s BEAUTIFUL this morning, with temperatures sitting at 59°F and warming quickly!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 57°F
Wind Direction & Speed: West at 5 MPH
Tide Stage: Low at 11:10 AM
Water Clarity: Stunningly clear.  I can see the bottom in places I never have!
Overall Conditions: Light breeze, beautiful skies, warming quickly as the humidity is low.

An absolutely gorgeous morning.  I ended up on the dock for 2 hours and even trespassed on the neighbors 2 story dock to get a better view today.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Wildlife activity is returning to usual this morning, now that the cold snap has passed. Bird movement was returning to normal, with the osprey screeching high in the air and pelican diving on the mullet.

Some mullet were actively jumping along the lagoon, and I can see glass minnows and greenies swimming in the water.  Under my neighbors dock I disturbed a huge redfish that was lounging under the dock.  Caught some mullet and greenies in the cast net but nothing on the poles.

I've got to get to the other side and do some fishing on the flats one of my neighbors says.  I'm buying a little john boat soon and then we can expand the reports!

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

It looks like the Bahamas out there today.  The water is clear and you can see sandy bottom even at 3-4 feet in depth.  It's days like today that bring people here.  Absolutely beautiful day.

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Waterfront Real Estate Update

The waterfront real estate market in Sebastian and Vero Beach remains balanced overall. Inventory levels are steady, and well-positioned waterfront homes continue to move quickly when priced appropriately.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – February 24, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good afternoon from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Monday, February 23, 2026.

It’s a brisk start along the lagoon this morning, with temperatures sitting at 50°F after dipping into the high 30s overnight.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 59°F
Wind Direction & Speed: NE at 10 MPH
Tide Stage: High at 12:54 PM and low at 7:07 PM
Water Clarity: Poor due to sustained east winds
Overall Conditions: Breezy, choppy surface, cold wind from the North

The steady north wind has pushed some surface chop across the Indian River Lagoon, reducing water clarity and making for a chilly waterfront today. With the high tide and cooler overnight temperatures, it feels more like a mid-winter dock than late February in Sebastian Florida.  For those of you in NYC I realize everything is relative right now.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Wildlife activity was quieter than usual this morning, likely due to the cold snap that brought temperatures into the 30s overnight. Bird movement was limited, with fewer ospreys and pelicans active along the shoreline early on.

Despite the conditions, there were still signs of life. I caught a few nets full of greenies, or menhaden, or shad (pick your favorite term).  Planktonivores that are some of the base of the food chain.  I also caught on of the little croakers pictured.  They are so fun to fish for!

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

Strong east and north winds can quickly impact water clarity along the Indian River Lagoon, especially during high tide cycles. This time of year, cooler overnight temperatures also slow early morning wildlife activity, but as the sun climbs, the system typically rebalances and becomes more active.

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Waterfront Real Estate Update

The waterfront real estate market in Sebastian and Vero Beach remains balanced overall. Inventory levels are steady, and well-positioned homes continue to move quickly when priced appropriately.
