Good Morning from Sebastian Florida
Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Monday April 13, 2026.
A pretty nice morning on the river even with the winds still holding at 10 MPH+. A beautiful sunrise through the clouds this morning. One of my neighbors came back this week after being gone the month of March. Second day in a row I've had a nice AM chat with a neighbor. Everyone loves the dock and the lagoon lifestyle is why they snow bird here year after year!
🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions
Time: 8 AM
Air Temperature: 71°F
Humidity: 35% - Makes it a bit chilly with the wind
Wind Direction & Speed: North at 10-15 MPH
Tide Stage: High at 7:30 AM and Low around 2:30 PM
Water Clarity: Moderate even with all the wind.
Water Conditions: Choppy with occasional white caps cresting. A nice rhythm of waves breaking on the beach.
General Observations:
I didn't throw my nets this AM but I am going fishing later today. I love to fish in combination with laundry day. Why? Because I can and that's cool. Lagoon Lifestyle.
Lagoon Living Tip for the Day:
Use phosphate‑free fertilizers on your lawn.
Excess nutrients like phosphorus and nitrogen often wash into the lagoon during rainstorms, contributing to algae blooms and water quality problems. Many Florida-friendly fertilizers are designed specifically to protect waterways.
🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings
A few birds around but its pretty quiet overall. I'm going to do some fishing later today so maybe I'll have some great photos tomorrow?

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update & Suggestion of The Day
Check dock and seawall permits before you buy.
Not all waterfront improvements are automatically compliant. Docks, seawalls, and boat lifts often require permits, and unpermitted structures can become the new owner’s responsibility. Reviewing permits ahead of time helps avoid costly fixes or limitations on future upgrades.
The real estate market in Sebastian and Vero Beach remains balanced overall. Inventory levels are steady, and well-positioned homes continue to move quickly when priced appropriately. There is plenty of inventory and only slight price reductions seen in the market. Days on market is a more traditional 75 than the hyper markets we have had in the past few years.
