Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Tuesday April 7, 2026.

Rain, rain, and more rain.  It started overnight and hasn't quit today.  We've gone over in an inch in 12 hours and flash flood warnings have been issued.  It still cant stop me from getting to the dock!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: Noon

Air Temperature: 72°F

Humidity: 86%

Wind Direction & Speed: North at 5 MPH

Tide Stage: High at 2 PM and Low was at 9 AM

Water Clarity: Clear and moderate level

Water Conditions: Calm with the low winds but it gets choppy with the gusts.

General Observations:  Just like with people who live in a  sunny climate.  When it rains we take the day to relax.  Birds are about but everything seems calm today on the lagoon.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

With all the wind things are pretty quiet.  The osprey are soaring up above playing on the wind but most other birds are still hunkered down somewhere in their escape from yesterdays cold wind.  Here is one that caught a nice sized mullet flying away.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

Today I am going to feature ORCA.  The Ocean Research & Conservation Association in Vero Beach.  They link together citizen scientists with professional ones to help facilitate their research.  From living shorelines to giant squid in the deep sea.  A great place to get involved with.

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update & Suggestion of The Day

Buyers should always attend the home inspection if possible.

Even though the inspector provides a written report, being there in person allows buyers to see issues firsthand and ask questions in real time. Inspectors often share valuable maintenance tips about HVAC systems, roofs, plumbing shutoffs, and electrical panels that never make it into the report.

The real estate market in Sebastian and Vero Beach remains balanced overall. Inventory levels are steady, and well-positioned homes continue to move quickly when priced appropriately.  There is plenty of inventory and only slight price reductions seen in the market.  Days on market is a more traditional 75 than the hyper markets we have had in the past few years.
