Good Morning from Sebastian Florida
Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your WEEKEND waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Friday May 29, 2026.
A beautiful but hot morning on the dock. There is barely any breeze and it is from the west when there is one and that doesn't do us much good from a cooling perspective.
This mornings fishing was interrupted by NASA and a rocket launch that I caught in my video today!
🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions
Time: 9 AM
Air Temperature: 78°F - high of 86
Humidity: 90%
Wind Direction & Speed: West at 0-4 MPH
Tide Stage: High at 9:30 AM and Low around 4:30 PM
Water Conditions: Calm, flat and CLEAR!
Lagoon Living Tip for the Day:
Plant native species whenever possible.
Native plants typically require less water, provide food and habitat for local wildlife, and help reduce fertilizer runoff that can eventually reach the Indian River Lagoon.
The Pelican Island Audubon society here has a great selection of native plants for sale and they will even give you 3 free trees just for coming by!
🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings
The water is so clear I just keep watching minnows, mullet, needlefish and all the rest swimming around. There is a snook under the dock that is hitting on all the bait at times.
I saw grouchy the Great Blue Heron again today now just to the north of me. The small Little blue is also around today. Just 1 pelican out on the dock though. They have been quiet lately.

Featured Community Do-Gooder: The Pelican Island Conservation Society
As the nonprofit friends group supporting Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, the Pelican Island Conservation Society helps promote conservation, environmental education, habitat protection, volunteer programs, and public awareness surrounding America's first national wildlife refuge.
Their work helps preserve one of the Treasure Coast's most remarkable ecological treasures while introducing new generations to the importance of protecting birds, fisheries, and lagoon habitats.
🏡 Sebastian & Vero Real Estate Suggestion of The Day
Visit a neighborhood at three different times before buying.
A street can feel completely different at 8 a.m., 2 p.m., and sunset. Traffic patterns, noise levels, dog walkers, boat activity, school pickup lines, and even afternoon shade can reveal things that don't show up during a showing.
Considering Buying or Selling Lagoon Lifestyle Property?
If you’re considering buying or selling a home in Sebastian, Vero Beach, or anywhere along the Treasure Coast, I’m always happy to provide current market insight and personalized guidance.
