Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Wednesday May 11, 2026.

It's good to be back home after a fast a furious trip to Athens GA and back.  My fabulous daughter just graduated from the Terry school of business magna cum laude!  Of course I took the back roads and never used the Interstates in GA.  Check out my driving videos for some of that action!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 9:30 AM

Air Temperature: 81°F - high of 88

Humidity: 87%

Wind Direction & Speed: South at 0-5 MPH

Tide Stage: High at 6 AM and Low around 1 PM

Water Conditions: Clear and low

General Observations:

Summer is here.  The humidity if 80-90 percent and the afternoon showers have started.  Huge band of showers Sunday night!

Lagoon Living Tip for the Day:

Choose phosphorus-free fertilizer when possible.

Excess phosphorus can fuel algae blooms that harm seagrass and lagoon wildlife. Many Florida lawns already contain enough phosphorus naturally, making low- or no-phosphorus options a lagoon-friendly choice.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

I've been catching catfish off the dock lately.  Lots of snook around and other predators around though.  Speaking of.  Here is a cool video of a dolphin blowing by, literaly.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Spotlight

Featured Organization: The Marine Resources Council

The Marine Resources Council has spent decades working to protect and restore the Indian River Lagoon through education, oyster restoration projects, water quality advocacy, and community volunteer programs across Florida’s Space Coast.

Their hands-on conservation work gives residents meaningful ways to directly support lagoon health and restoration.

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Real Estate Suggestion of The Day

Pay attention to tree placement around a home.

Large trees can boost curb appeal and provide shade, but roots and overhanging branches may affect foundations, plumbing, roofs, or insurance costs over time. A healthy, well-maintained landscape adds value without creating future headaches.
