Good Morning from Sebastian Florida
Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Friday March 27, 2026.
A beautiful day with light winds, lots of sun and moderate humidity. It's always comfortable on the dock, well....usually!
It's spring break season in south Florida. The local schools get out next week around here so the area should be busy. Not sure if locals leave here and go for cold or if they just all come to the beach. Probably the 2nd. Most of us down here don't like cold!
🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions
Time: 11 AM
Air Temperature: 75°F
Wind Direction & Speed: ENE at 5 MPH
Tide Stage: High at 6 AM and Low around 1 PM
Water Clarity: Average with decent visibility
Overall Conditions: Light ripples in the water with wispy clouds in the sky and light wind.
🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings
2 days in a row with nothing in my cast net. I see tons of glass minnows but they are too small for the net. I keep casting my jig through the glass minnows but it doesn't seem like anything is eating them. At least not that is interested in my jig.
I did catch a couple of decent catfish on live shrimp using a popping cork. They are fun to catch as they fight well. I had a few other smaller hits on shrimp but that's probably those little croakers I was catching a few weeks ago.

The pelicans eat glass minnows and they are diving all around. I also saw the dolphin swim by to check the cove out a bit but they didn't come in to feed like the past few days.
🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight
I want to promote 2 Fun clubs in Sebastian that I belong to.
1 - The Sebastian Fishing Club. https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sebastianfishingclub/
A local group of anglers that get together once a month to discuss fishing but also the over all health of the lagoon and estuary that we depend on.
2 - Friends of the St Sebastian River - https://share.google/4FeoZutDpVwAjzksA
More of a conservation group that helps clean various parts of conservation land around and impacting the river. In addition they educate the general public on the importance of the water shed.
🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update & Suggestion of The Day
Todays suggestion is to recognize that residential real estate is an emotional decision. Buyers looks for Homes and Sellers sell houses. Buyers are looking to attach and Sellers are looking to detach from the property and those 2 words summarize that feeling. Nothing to fear here. Just something to recognize.,
The real estate market in Sebastian and Vero Beach remains balanced overall. Inventory levels are steady, and well-positioned homes continue to move quickly when priced appropriately. There is plenty of inventory and only slight price reductions seen in the market. Days on market is a more traditional 75 than the hyper markets we have had in the past few years.
Considering Buying or Selling Lagoon Lifestyle Property?
If you’re considering buying or selling a home in Sebastian, Vero Beach, or anywhere along the Treasure Coast, I’m always happy to provide current market insight and personalized guidance.
