Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Wednesday March 11, 2026.

Man is it hot and still in the morning!  Early in the day when the land and the water are the same temp the winds don't blow.  As the day gets going that changes and produces onshore winds that are a life saver in Florida.  This is all in absence of fronts blowing through but the normal hydrological cycle of the area.

My buddy was on the dock this AM and was using greenies for bait and said he had 1 HUGE strike that he wasn't paying attention to but that about bent his pole in half for a minute.  It seems like the bait fish have gotten bigger and snook and redfish seems to be around more looking for something to snack on.

I tell you who was snacking this AM.  The fabled no-see-ums (Ceratopognidae - biting midges)!  They ran me off the dock in 20 minutes.  I'll wait until the wind kicks up to go back down and do some fishing later today.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Air Temperature: 76°F
Wind Direction & Speed: SouthEast at 0-2 MPH
Tide Stage: dropping to low at 11 AM
Water Clarity: Clear with all the calm.
Overall Conditions: Like a bath tub

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Today I filed something I've never seen before.  A stingray swimming at the surface of the water.  I could see the wing flopping in the water far out and it slowly came closer.  That's when I whipped out my new Galaxy 10XL, send checks for this ad to...., and caught this strange behavior on tape.

The birds are busy from osprey to pelicans to seagulls.  The lagoon seems to be brimming with life.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

All my plants are coming to life too.  I have ripe tomatoes growing, my dragon fruit plant has sprung to life and even the poor shrubs that were almost killed by our freeze have new leaves.  The live Oak trees are also popping with pollen!  SPRING HAS SPRUNG!
