Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Monday June 8, 2026.

A warm but beautiful morning on the lagoon.  It's 80 at 9:30 and going to be 85 today.  It's also going to get a degree or two hotter everyday with rains returning this weekend.   I'll be on the road Wed - Mon as I head to Saint Simonds Island in GA to scatter my fathers ashes at sea.  We have a whole weekend of celebrating him planned mostly by cooking up all his favorite foods!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 9:30 AM

Air Temperature: 80°F high of 85

Humidity: 80% - it's back and increasing daily!

Wind Direction & Speed: NE at 5-8 MPH

Tide Stage: Low at 11 AM and High around 5 PM

Water Conditions: Clear and calm with a light ripple.  I can see the bottom at the 5th piling on the dock.  

Lagoon Living Tip for the Day:

Spend time outside after a summer rain.

Rain showers often bring out wildlife activity. Birds begin feeding, baitfish move along shorelines, and the changing light can create some of the most beautiful lagoon scenes of the day.

 

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

I didn't have any luck fishing.  I changed up to a sand flea on the popping cork and am using an artificial shrimp with a wagging tail on the casting pole.

 

I did have a bounty in the cast net though!  A massive pin fish and even 2 and a mullet in 1 cast.  Bounty of the sea.
