Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Thursday July March 18, 2026.

This morning I'm back on my dock and having a slow morning after a busy past few days.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 10 AM

Air Temperature: 84°F - high of 88

Humidity: 80%

Wind Direction & Speed: NE at 5 MPH - a rare direction this summer

Tide Stage: High at 6 AM and Low around 1 PM

Moon Phase: First 1/4 - rise at 4 PM and set at 1:30 AM

Water Conditions: Low with a light ripple.  Visibility has improved in the past few days.  Maybe that water spout churned everything up?

Watch the Edges

The most interesting parts of the Indian River Lagoon are often where two habitats meet.

Keep an eye on:

  • Mangroves meeting open water
  • Oyster bars bordering grass flats
  • Docks casting shade
  • Marsh grasses along creek mouths
  • Sandy bottoms transitioning to seagrass

 

These transition zones attract baitfish, crabs, shrimp, birds, and larger game fish because they provide both food and shelter. Whether you're fishing, kayaking, or simply observing wildlife, the "edges" are where nature is often at its busiest.

 

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Fairly quiet but there is 1 pelican on the neighbors dock.  I saw a turn flying south by itself.  The same as a lone male dolphin cruising the waters heading south.  Not feeding just passing through.
