Daily Lagoon Life Report from Lakeland, FL. – July 24, 2026
Good morning from Lakeland, FL.
Part of what's great about south Florida is all of the adventures that you can go on. Today I started at the ORCA nursery in Vero Beach. Then I went home and packed up and drove across the state using FL 60 which is a great old school diagonal road in FL. There aren't many of those. Check out my driving video HERE.
My trip included downtown Fellsmere. Once the center of a huge local orange industry. They grew and picked them out there and the made them into juice and shipped them in Vero Beach. Once you leave Fellsmere you see what's left of the orange industry before you hit a few cattle ranches and then you head to lake Worth and the Florida ridge. Yes, there are highlands down there center of Fl like a spine.
Then all of the sudden you drop into the greater Orlando area which bleeds directly into Tampa anymore via Lakeland.
