Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – April 6, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Wednesday April 6, 2026.

Back on the dock after my fathers passing.  I know this may sound weird but it was a great trip.  My father was loved by many and had a fabulous life.  He couldn't do that anymore and then he died quickly and peacefully.  Not bad.  There are worse things than death!  He left my mom in great shape but she now has to figure out what to do after loosing the man she was with for 60 years since she was 21 in 1968!  That's huge.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 10:30 AM

Air Temperature: 75°F

Humidity: 75%

Wind Direction & Speed: East at 2-5 MPH

Tide Stage: High at 1:30 PM and Low was at 8 AM

Water Clarity: Clear and shallow!

Water Conditions: Calm and beautiful

General Observations: Rain moving in for the next few days.  I saw a 3' shar last night when down on the dock.

Real Estate Tip for the Day:  Look at a property at various times of the day and weekends and week days.

Lagoon Living Tip for the Day:  This section will debut tomorrow.  How fun!

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Still no luck with the cast net.  10 throws and nothing.  Tons of glass minnows and I could see some mullet but no luck.

I did catch this lady fish and she (maybe he) fought like a lion.  Jumping out of the water etc.  Super fun!  That must be difficult to be a male lady fish.  Hummmm.....

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update & Suggestion of The Day

Todays suggestion is to always get a survey on any property you buy.  The land is the only thing that is eternal by definition.  The rest are just improvements or encumbrances on the land.  The survey shows the land and that's what you are really buying.

The real estate market in Sebastian and Vero Beach remains balanced overall. Inventory levels are steady, and well-positioned homes continue to move quickly when priced appropriately.  There is plenty of inventory and only slight price reductions seen in the market.  Days on market is a more traditional 75 than the hyper markets we have had in the past few years.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 30, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Monday March 30, 2026.

The winds are still whipping but down from the past 24 hours!  No more 40 MPH gusts which is nice but it is still a steady 10-15 MPH from the east which is a bummer for boating and fishing from the dock.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 10:30 AM

Air Temperature: 76°F

Wind Direction & Speed: East at 10-15 MPH

Tide Stage: High at 1 PM

Water Clarity: Cloudy from all the wind

Overall Conditions: Choppy with occasional white caps cresting.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

With all the wind things are pretty quiet.  The osprey are soaring up above playing on the wind but most other birds are still hunkered down somewhere in their escape from yesterdays cold wind.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

Today I took a nice walk and documented some of the plants that are starting to bounce back after the freeze we got this winter.  I saw the first signs of the sea grapes sprouting new growth!  Hopefully people have cut back the dead as that part will not come back but they apparently will start to regrow from sone of the old lower branches!

Seagrapes!

New growth from death.

This is just a beautiful staghorn fern.  In a tree that is now dead from what I can tell but it is on a chain and can be moved if the tree dies.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing WEEKEND Report – March 30, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your weekend waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Saturday March 21, 2026.

It's pretty now but the weather is going to go straight down hill later.  Since I'm writing this on Monday I'll relay the blow by blow and show you an amazing 450 lb. swordfish they brought in at Sebastian Saltwater on Saturday afternoon.

By 3 PM today we will have sustained winds from the East at 20+ MPH with 40+ MPH gusts.  It started with the wind and then it dumped rain on us around 7PM but the wind didn't quit after and it hasn't quit yet on Monday morning!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 11 AM

Air Temperature: 75°F

Wind Direction & Speed: East at 5 MPH

Tide Stage: High at 12:30 PM and Low around 7 PM

Water Clarity: Average but will be going down hill soon.

Overall Conditions: The calm before the storm.  The boats that are normally docked at my dock are all out of the water to ride this out.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Tons of glass minnows and the pelicans seem to like them.  I'm sure each dive must catch 10-20 of them.  Like one of my neighbors stated "like a snack...a real live goldfish cracker."

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

With the weather coming in later there are lots of people out on the water now.  Paddleboarders & boaters are taking up harborage on the spoil islands for a relaxing morning.  It really is a unique feeling to be on the islands.  Make sure you paddle or boat out there sometime.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 27, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Friday March 27, 2026.

A beautiful day with light winds, lots of sun and moderate humidity.  It's always comfortable on the dock, well....usually!

It's spring break season in south Florida.  The local schools get out next week around here so the area should be busy.  Not sure if locals leave here and go for cold or if they just all come to the beach.  Probably the 2nd.  Most of us down here don't like cold!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 11 AM

Air Temperature: 75°F

Wind Direction & Speed: ENE at 5 MPH

Tide Stage: High at 6 AM and Low around 1 PM

Water Clarity: Average with decent visibility

Overall Conditions: Light ripples in the water with wispy clouds in the sky and light wind.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

2 days in a row with nothing in my cast net.  I see tons of glass minnows but they are too small for the net.  I keep casting my jig through the glass minnows but it doesn't seem like anything is eating them.  At least not that is interested in my jig.

I did catch a couple of decent catfish on live shrimp using a popping cork.  They are fun to catch as they fight well.  I had a few other smaller hits on shrimp but that's probably those little croakers I was catching a few weeks ago.

The pelicans eat glass minnows and they are diving all around.  I also saw the dolphin swim by to check the cove out a bit but they didn't come in to feed like the past few days.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

I want to promote 2 Fun clubs in Sebastian that I belong to.

1 - The Sebastian Fishing Club.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/Sebastianfishingclub/

A local group of anglers that get together once a month to discuss fishing but also the over all health of the lagoon and estuary that we depend on.

2 - Friends of the St Sebastian River - https://share.google/4FeoZutDpVwAjzksA

More of a conservation group that helps clean various parts of conservation land around and impacting the river.  In addition they educate the general public on the importance of the water shed.

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update & Suggestion of The Day

Todays suggestion is to recognize that residential real estate is an emotional decision.  Buyers looks for Homes and Sellers sell houses.  Buyers are looking to attach and Sellers are looking to detach from the property and those 2 words summarize that feeling.  Nothing to fear here.  Just something to recognize.,

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 26, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Thursday March 26, 2026.

What a beautiful morning on the dock.  The winds are still as I arrive at 9:30 but I didn't film for another 45 minutes and they had picked up a bit to 5 MPH out of the ESE.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

 Time: 10:15 AM

Air Temperature: 73°F

Wind Direction & Speed: ESE at 5 MPH

Tide Stage: High at 5AM & PM and Low around noon

Water Clarity: Average

Overall Conditions: Dead flat at 9:30 but slight ripple by 10:15.

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Holy cow I hooked Moby Dick last night when I went down fishing around 7 PM.  A giant snook came up and hit a jig I had tipped with shrimp as I got close to the dock.  Apparently my line didn't stand a chance as it was gone in a flash.  I could only see the head but I would guess it was 30 inches +.

Today I threw the cast net 6 times and didn't catch anything even though I can see lots of glass minnows and mullet.

The dolphin were out feeding this AM and I did get some good footage of that.

Dolphin Feeding Video on You Tube

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

It is great to be back on the river and doing some fishing this AM.

I had a few hits on my jig fishing pole and I caught a nice catfish on the bobber pole.  Nothing in the cast net but there are lots of bait fish around.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 25, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the shore along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Wednesday March 25, 2026.

A beautiful morning today and I'm volunteering for ORCA near River front park.  ORCA.  Ocean Research & Conservation Association is a great group based out of Vero Beach and their tagline is Citizen Science.

Check them out at ORCA

We are working on a buffered shoreline project.  We are attempting to reduce the amount of fertilizers and pesticides that wash into the lagoon but planting vegetation between the lagoon and the developed areas it borders.  To read more about buffered shorelines click HERE.

To go even further look at this giant squid video that has captured with help from ORCA.  Awesome!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 10:30 AM

Air Temperature: 78°F

Wind Direction & Speed: East at 5 MPH

Tide Stage: Low around 11 AM

Water Clarity: Clear with light winds

Overall Conditions: A beautiful day on the lagoon!

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Today I'm going to report on how much plastic I picked up off the beach and in between the plants and rocks in our buffered shoreline area.  It always amazes me all the plastic that I find in such settings.  A lot of it is so fragile and flimsy that it disintegrates when I try and pick it up but that just creates micro plastics that still aren't gone, I just cant see them.  That's how it winds up in every living creature on the planet and in every drop of water.

It's a bit of a bummer but I made 1 spot better and better is better.  That's all I can do is clean more than I dirtied.  If everyone did that we would be in betters shape.  I had many people ask me what I was doing so maybe I inspired others to do their part.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

The lagoon is very delicate.  With an average dept of 4, yes 4, feet there isn't much water in there and it can be easily impacted by human activity.  ORCA is one of many groups doing everything they can to help and I love being a part of it.

To read about the issues and how we are looking to solve them check ORCAs page HERE.

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update & Suggestion of The Day

Todays suggestion is to understand "Time is of the Essence".  That means dates matter and there are consequences for not adhering to deadlines.  AKA - when due diligence is over then earnest money is at risk.

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 24, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Evening from Sebastian Florida

Good evening from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Tuesday March 24, 2026.

A beautiful evening tonight as I am back in town and back on the dock!

I had a great trip to Live Oak for the past 4 days and then I stopped off in Orlando, for some reason, last night.  I wanted to take a boat tour of the lakes of Winter Garden but it didn't work out.  I did get to use some hotel towels to clean my filthy body.  "Festival Foot" shown below!  Plus I had a nice rooftop pool to sit at and a nice hotel bar to end the night at.  I love hotels and hotel bars!

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 7:30 PM

Air Temperature: 72°F

Wind Direction & Speed: East at 0-5 MPH

Tide Stage: High at 2:30 AM

Water Clarity: Average with a light ripple on the water

Overall Conditions: Beautiful!

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

I mostly saw various birds taking advantage of the last few minutes of eating for the day.  Some mullet jumping and the lagoon seems tranquil and ready for a good nights rest.

🌊 Indian River Lagoon Insight

It's great to be back on the lagoon I love!

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update & Suggestion of The Day

ROAD TRIP - Live Oak Report of the Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 21, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Lie Oak Florida

Good morning from a dock at the Spirit of the Suwanee Music Park in Live Oak, FL. Here’s the dock report for Saturday March 21, 2026.

I had to take myself on spring break this weekend to Live Oak.  I've come to these festival grounds for 15+ years now and I have friends from back home in Marietta that attend, friends from Sebastian that attend, and hundreds of friends from all over that attend.

The Festival is called Spring Family Reunion and it is an appropriate name.  I've seen families start and grow from here and some fracture only to reunite in new combinations.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 9:30 AM

Air Temperature: 53°F  (It was below 40 last night!)

Wind Direction & Speed: Light and variable

Tide Stage: Pond

Water Clarity: Clear but with lots of tannins

Overall Conditions: Beautiful pond with cypress trees

🎣 Fishing Activity & Wildlife Sightings

Most of the wildlife here is confined to humans but there are a few huge bat houses here that thousands of bats pour out of each night.  A new comer ritual is to have your newbie stand close to the house and as the bats leave they fling guano all over your newbie.  Good times!

Sebastian Florida Weather & Fishing Report – March 19, 2026 | Indian River Lagoon

Good Morning from Sebastian Florida

Good morning from the dock along the Indian River Lagoon in Sebastian, Florida. Here’s your daily waterfront weather, fishing, and wildlife report for Thursday March 19, 2026.

A bit warmer again but still not pleasant by any stretch on the dock.  The wind is howling straight down the river at 20+ MPH and it has brought the water level up 1.5 - 2 feet since yesterday!

Water has risen

It's spring break season in south Florida.  We had 4 tables of college spring break kids in the restaurant last night, so what do I know about this not being a hot spot!  The 2 I got locations from were Minnesota and Ontario.  The weather hasn't been great for them but warmer than where they came from for sure.

🌤 Waterfront Weather Conditions

Time: 9:45 AM

Air Temperature: 65°F

Wind Direction & Speed: North at 20+ MPH

Tide Stage: High at 11 AM and Low around 6 PM

Water Clarity: Cloudy from all the wind

Overall Conditions: Choppy with occasional white caps cresting.  A north wind is always our coldest wind.

Today is my last day on this dock for a few days.  I'm heading to Live Oak FL for a bluegrass festival.  I've got the trailer attached to the car and am ready to roll!  There is a pond there and a dock so I will do a dock/nature report from Live Oak while I'm there.

🏡 Sebastian & Vero Beach Real Estate Update & Suggestion of The Day

Todays suggestion is to not panic about moves in the mortgage market.  It's like trying to pick a top or bottom of a stock. It will drive you mad if you try and time it perfectly.  Just relax.
